The first priority of every administrator, teacher, and staff member at Hanover County Online School is to facilitate the success and growth of every student in our school. Leadership Team 

Stacy Stanford Stacy Stanford, Principal
Mrs. Stanford received her bachelor’s degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She received her master’s of education in curriculum and instruction from Averett University, and her administration and supervision leadership certificate from Longwood College. Mrs. Stanford taught for many years at Patrick Henry High School, as well as served as senior teacher. She then realized that great things happen in the middle! She served as senior teacher for Chickahominy Middle School and assistant principal at Bell Creek Middle School. Most recently, she has served as assistant principal for Hanover County Online School. Mrs. Stanford is a Hanover resident where she lives with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys the beach, baseball, and time with family and friends.

Stacie Taylor Stacie Taylor, Online Learning Developer
Mrs. Taylor received her bachelor’s and master’s degree from Longwood University. She also received certificates in instructional technology and online teaching and learning from Virginia Commonwealth University. She has worked for Hanover Schools since 2003 as a middle school history teacher, an instructional technology resource teacher at all levels, and most recently as the online learning developer. She enjoys hiking, camping, kayaking, reading, and spending time in Hatteras, NC.

Chris Leggett Chris Leggett, Senior Teacher for Special Education 
Mr. Leggett spent eight years in Henrico County Public Schools as an exceptional education teacher, critical response teacher, and department chair. He has taught special education for a total of 20 years. He has also coached varsity wrestling and cross country. He earned a bachelor’s degree (special education/elementary education) and master’s degree (administration and supervision k–12) from the California University of Pennsylvania. Originally, from the Pittsburgh area, he moved to Virginia in 2001. He, his wife, and two children live in the Mechanicsville area. In his spare time Mr. Leggett enjoys running, traveling with his family, and attending his children's sporting events.

Britney Carr Britney Carr, Secondary School Counselor
Mrs. Carr grew up in Henrico County, graduated from Hermitage High School, and attended Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a bachelor of science degree in criminal justice and psychology. A year later, she moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to attend the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and earned her masters in counseling with a concentration in school counseling pre-kK–12. She started her counseling career as a middle school counselor at Liberty Middle School and will be the secondary school counselor for HCOS. She enjoys traveling and spending time with her husband and daughter.
